08 · ADVENTURE AND SIGHTSEEING AROUND ULURU
Around Uluru, some tours lean towards adventure and others towards sightseeing. We help you see which is which before you book. Every tour is delivered by an independent local operator.

First light
Adventure and sightseeing experiences are our priority around Uluru and the wider Red Centre. They can look alike in a search result, but tours with similar names can be quite different in practice. An adventure-leaning itinerary may put more of the day on foot or on rougher ground. A sightseeing-leaning itinerary may spend more time at viewpoints and less time walking.
Neither is the better choice. The right one depends on your pace, your time and what you want from the day. Each tour page names the operator and sets out the itinerary, inclusions and AUD price, so you can judge the tour on its details, not just its name. For a wider view, read How to Compare Australian Tours.
THREE QUESTIONS TO ANSWER FIRST
PACE
How much walking do you want? Check the itinerary for time on foot and the type of terrain, not just the headline stops.
TIME ON THE ROAD
A shorter Uluru tour and a multi-day Red Centre tour suit different trips. See Shorter or multi-day?
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Check whether park entry, meals and transfers are in the AUD price, or listed as extra costs.

Midday
Adventure-leaning. Look for what the walking involves, what the operator asks you to bring and whether the itinerary changes in hot conditions.
Sightseeing-leaning. Look at which viewpoints are on the itinerary, how long you spend at each and how much of the day is spent travelling between them.
Either way. Compare the AUD price with what it actually covers. Our guide to Tour Prices, Inclusions & Extra Costs explains compulsory charges and possible extras.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
Independent local operators deliver every tour.
No. We help you discover and compare tours. The independent operator handles the guiding, transport and activities, and any accommodation the tour includes.
No one can promise weather, light or wildlife. A tour’s itinerary shows where it plans to be. Conditions on the day are outside anyone’s control.
That depends on the operator or booking provider for the tour. Each tour page and our disclosures page explain who processes payment, who confirms the booking and who handles changes.
Yes. Send us a note through the enquiry form and tell us which tours you’re weighing up. You’ll find more answers in our Traveller FAQs and in Questions to Ask Before You Book a Tour.
